My Life and Blogging

After blogging for about three years now, I ask myself, “How does blogging affect my life?” Perhaps it would depend on which side you’re looking; on the things I have left unattended because of blogging or the things I have achieved by it.

I won’t deny the fact that I procrastinate some tasks because I’m too busy writing my blog posts. I’m supposed to practice some piano pieces but I would defer it to a later day unless of course it would be extremely necessary to practice because I spend a good portion of my time either with writing and posting or organizing my blogs’ themes and widgets. Often, I’d skip snacks and abandon TV viewing to satisfy my blogging whim. Adding to that, I have completely relinquished household chores so I could have more time to attend to my blogs. It’s a very liberating job, I guess!

On the other hand, blogging has challenged my creativity. It has brought out the writer that has long been aspiring to break free from within me. I still consider myself a novice and amateur in many aspects of the craft but the fulfillment that I get from blogging is priceless. It builds me up as an individual.

Since I’ve become a paralytic, I’ve spent almost all of my life inside the four corners of our house. Many bloggers out there call themselves Stay At Home Moms, well in my case; I’m a Stay At Home Man. While I’m confined within these four corners of our home, blogging makes life more colorful. It puts my life into a steady growth.

As of now, blogging is both a job and a hobby to me. Since, it is something I enjoy doing, perhaps it could be a good source of income for me. Although, I have not earned that much since I’ve started but with the necessary improvements in terms of content and quality plus the undying perseverance, I believe I’m getting there.

This year is going to be a year of harvest for me and I intend to implement the necessary changes within the following weeks. I just need to be more creative on my posts, be more aggressive in terms of frequency and work on a definite niche to develop more following and improve traffic.

I intend to submit this post as an entry to “Coolbuster.net ExtraBLOGanza Contest”. This is the first time I’m joining a blogging contest this big. Feel free to click the “Like” button if you like the post and comment if you have one.

  4. My favorite part of this post, Sir Arnel, was when you wrote, "blogging has challenged my creativity. It has brought out the writer that has long been aspiring to break free from within me. I still consider myself a novice and amateur in many aspects of the craft but the fulfillment that I get from blogging is priceless. It builds me up as an individual". That’s really hitting the target!

For me, it is a progressive answer on the q "why blogging is life?". If you go into it with this attitude then you will naturally write your best posts everyday, engage with the readers harmoniously, and be a great blogger!
