Her Royal Highness Princess William of Wales

After the wedding of Lady Diana and Prince Charles at the St. Paul’s Cathedral on July 29, 1981, this is the only royal wedding that the whole world waits to see.

Catherine Elizabeth "Kate" Middleton will marry Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s first born, Prince William of Wales. Kate has studied History of Arts at the University of Saint Andrews in Scotland where she has met the Prince in 2001. Their friendship later has developed into a romantic relationship. I just do not understand why there are people who post negative opinions against her in You Tube.  I think she is beautiful.

There are sectors in England that question the existing monarchy. They believe that the monarchy is a mere symbol of the capitalist class. They say that the monarchs are losing popularity among the common people in the past few decades especially when media has exposed that the State funds the monarchs’ luxurious lifestyle.

Unlike Princess Diana, who has royal descent, Kate is a commoner. Critics of the monarchy say that this is an attempt to make the people feel that the monarchy has allowed ordinary people into their elite circle, a rehabilitation method to make themselves  fragrant again to the ordinary British.

I guess, a good number of the people of the United Kingdom still believe in the monarchy because of its value in British history and culture. Regardless of anti-monarch sentiments, the British people are excited about the royal wedding that will happen at the Westminster Abbey in London on April 29, 2011. Banks in the United Kingdom have declared a bank holiday to honor the royal event.

The entire world is anticipating the romantic royal wedding between William and Kate. It is like a love story in fairy tale books. I just hope that their marriage will be endless just like in those children stories: “and they lived happily ever after”.
