W.H.O. SAYS...

Technology gives good and lasting benefits if we use it appropriately. The abuse and misuse of it cancels off whatever good it may have brought us.

According to a source, the World Health Organization says that a study in a university in the US reveals that spending so much time on TV and internet games could make children dull. Those “activities” tend to isolate children from people that result in poor communication skill as they grow.

Both computer and television can be either educational or irrational. If you’re such a couch potato, those could just be idiot boxes for your entertainment. However, those could be crystal cases that store mines of information that that can make you wise. I guess, it is all a matter of intelligent use.

LG Electronics has announced a new device that combines a widescreen LCD television with a full-fledged Windows PC. The computer adds virtually no bulk to the flat panel display. The first system in LG’s TVPC lineup will come with an Intel Celeron 430 CPU, 160GB hard drive, 1GB of RAM and on-board WiFi connectivity. The system is expected to be released initially in South Korea for about 1,850,000 KRW (appx. $2000 US). No release date or pricing has been announced for other markets yet.
