For the past so many times that the Philippine National Anthem “Lupang Hiniang” has been sung in Paquiao’s fights, only the Glee sensation Ms Charice Pempengco has sung it perfectly.
Although, I believe in giving singers some artistic freedom in singing the National Anthem just the way American singers sing their Anthem, “The Star Spangled Banner”, I admit that some seem to overdo it. Their renditions are not reflective of the sense of freedom but a sheer display of vocal power.
I agree that Charice has sung the sacred song in the most perfect way so she deserves a warm congratulations.

i like charice…she really has a wonderful voice, another Philippine pride...
ReplyDeletewith regards to the question you left on my post...for me, I will not consider Aguinaldo as a hero, as I have learned in my History class and further enriched in some discussions, murdering Bonifacio is not only his political crime to the Filipino people…
other political crime is that he did not oppose the interventionist motive of US in the Philippines and further aggravated when he sold the revolution for 400,000 pesos
this is the setback of colonial history that is injected to the minds of the Filipino people for centuries now, it did not only erases the Filipino identity, but also our true heroes…it is the task of history to unearth this with new data and facts
thanks for frequenting on my blog
I'm not really a fan of Charice but she did a good job singing it well with justice and dignity. I think she was already warned not to mess up the arrangement because screwing up lyrics and arrangement of a national anthem is sheer and outright blasphemy.
ReplyDeleteYes I agree. Most of the singers in the past have not done as good as she has done.
